Growing up in a traditional Asian family in America, Kenney Mei cherished the weekends when he could enjoy delicious dim sum with his parents at their family-run restaurant. Born out of passion, this tradition became an essential part of his childhood memories. Now, Kenney is bringing dim sum back to Brooklyn with a modern twist at Dimmer Summer Restaurant.
In 2010, fueled by the urge to follow his dream, Kenney quit his full-time job and devoted himself to the restaurant industry. Gathering a team of skilled chefs from Beijing, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong, he set out to create the best dim sum cuisines from northern and southern China. At Dimmer Summer, the Asian fusion Brooklyn hotspot, Kenney combines his rich experience in the industry with modern techniques to elevate and innovate the traditional dishes.
